DE PERE, Wis. - Today, St. Norbert College joyfully celebrates the Feast of St. Norbert of Xanten (d. June 6, 1134 C.E.), the patron and namesake of the College. This special day offers a meaningful opportunity to reflect with gratitude on the life and legacy of a visionary leader whose mission continues to shape the heart of the St. Norbert community.

St. Norbert of Xanten - founder of the Norbertine Order - dedicated his life to the Gospel and to building a community grounded in service, contemplation, stability and unity. At St. Norbert College, his values live on through the four core Norbertine pillars: actio (action), contemplatio (contemplation), stabilitas loci (commitment to place) and communio (community).

To mark this Feast Day, the College is proud to share several reflections and creative projects that honor St. Norbert’s enduring legacy:

A new student-created website: This past semester, SNC students designed a new digital resource that walks through the full life of St. Norbert - from his early conversion to his founding of the Norbertine Order. The site offers an interactive and educational experience for anyone wishing to explore the roots of the College’s mission.

Baccalaureate reflection: In honor of this day, the College is also sharing a powerful reflection from Jack Vires ’25, who spoke at last month’s Baccalaureate Mass about how the Norbertine pillars continue to inspire and guide our campus community.
